
The tremendous excitement generated by the upcoming Windows has been focused almost exclusively on the desktop edition, but now we are beginning to know something of its equivalent for servers.
Bill Laing, vice president of Microsoft has begun to offer some data from the server edition of the next version of the Windows operating system. First Laing had referred to the progress of the company in the development of its various operating systems for server, which now extend from the Windows Home Server to versions for data centers and high performance computing for Windows Server 2008.
